Digital payments took center stage at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Visa spend data at FIFA venues found that by value, fans spent 300% more at Qatar 2022 than at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Fans also embraced tap-to-pay at FIFA venues, where over 5,300 payment terminals were deployed.
