• Robinhood, popular with younger retail investors, will allow customers to deposit and withdraw cryptocurrencies. That will include the meme-based dogecoin. Currently, Robinhood doesn't invest in cryptocurrency or use any customer cryptocurrency for its own benefit. The landscape has changed in part because of the technological landscape, which has brought buyers and sellers together online and in real-time. This has created an effect in which the accounts are leveraged and social media is used as a megaphone, with the ability to get in or out of holdings as quickly as possible. The GameStop incident that occurred in late January, with Robinhood and other brokerages shutting down trading on some stocks like GameStop and AMC to help get the market back under control after retail investors managed to skyrocket the value of those stocks, is still seeing talk and investigations. • Terry Angelos doesn't like to talk about Plaid too much these days. As Visa's first-ever global head of FinTech, he was at the center of the corporate giant's recent failed bid to buy Plaid. “I'm not gonna comment much further on Plaid that we haven't already said," he told Protocol, referring to Visa'sdecision to walk away from the $5.3 billion deal to avoid a potentially protracted antitrust legal battle with the Justice Department. • Clearbanc has announced the public beta of ClearAngel. For the first time, founders at the earliest stage can get automated guidance and equity-free capital through an extensive data platform to accelerate their first years of business, helping answer the questions and avoid the pitfalls many founders face.
