LATAM: one of the regions with the fastest FinTech adoption

According to EY, LATAM is one of the regions with the fastest consumer Fintech adoption index, with an average of 64%. The three countries leading the list were Colombia, Peru, México. However, the top 5 most funded fintechs originate in Brazil, with Nubank at the top with $1.2B. It's not surprising that Brazil led the investments last year, with 51.4% of all the deals in the region. On the debt side, México led the charts with USD 219.2 M; 59.7% of all amount in disclosed debt financing and 50% of all deals. Marble, the first digital wallet and loyalty platform for insurance, today announced $2.5 million in seed round funding. Link here.
The Chinese Central Bank is issuing more tests for its digital yuan, this time offering Beijing residents the chance to nab RMB 200 (USD 31) for free in yet another pilot project that will hand out a total of RMB 10 million (USD 1.4 million). Link here.
